Open the AVG menu and go to ‘Tools.’ Select ‘Advanced.
Click on ‘Servers’ located under ‘E-mail Scanner.’
Under ‘POP3,’ select ‘AutoPOP3’ and disable the option ‘Activate this server and use it for receiving e-mail.’ Under ‘SMTP,’ select ‘AutoSMTP’ and disable the option ‘Activate this server and use it for sending e-mail.’
